Heritage Education Group

Tuesday 18th December 2018, 10am for 10:30, Venue TBC, FREE

Workshop at Braintree Museum

The Heritage Education Group (HEG) is open to anyone working or volunteering in heritage education in Essex, including museums, heritage centres, parks, libraries, churches etc. It meets quarterly, at different venues around the county.

Please note that Thursday 13th September’s meeting has been cancelled.

December’s HEG will be focussing on #OFBYFORALL, a movement led by Nina Simon at the Museum of Art and History (MAH) in Santa Cruz, which encourages museums and other cultural organisations to be more community led.

You can learn more MAH’s work in community co-production here. I strongly advise you to watch the video of Nina’s keynote speech at this summer’s MuseumNext Conference.

It would be useful if you could complete the #OFBYFORALL Self Assessment Tool ahead of the meeting. This is best done with a group of colleagues (and ideally with members of your local community) but can be done alone if that is not possible. You do not have to publicly share your organisation’s score if you don’t want to, but we will be looking at trends, strengths and weaknesses and using this as a jumping off point to discuss future training needs.

Please let me know ASAP if you have any other items for the Agenda, please let me know ASAP.
